For Productions
We cast for you.
Background talent for Queensland productions, sourced and looked after by a team of three.
The team
Three people. One phone number.
You’ll know exactly who’s reading your brief, who’s on the radio at call, and who picks up if something goes sideways.

Melissa Crabtree
Extras Casting Director
Your first call. Reads briefs, builds shortlists, liaises with HODs, on-set point of contact.

Karmen
Extras Casting Co-ordinator
Books, briefs, and looks after the talent before and during the shoot.

Matt
Assistant Extras Casting Coordinator
Vouchers, super/TFN, post-day reports. First point of contact on set.
The process
How a job runs with us.
From the first script breakdown to the final wrap report. Six steps, no surprises.
Breakdown & briefs
We break down the script and meet with the director, producers, and 1st AD to walk through characters and briefs for each group of background talent — and present the overall extras budget for the shoot.
Submissions
Working with over 20 talent agents and sourcing from our direct talent pool, we build submissions for each group and present them for selection.
Holds, fittings & scheduling
Talent are held, booked into fittings, and scheduled for their shoot day. We liaise with costume, hair & makeup, accounts, and unit — and with the AD team — so every department is across the requirements.
Pre-shoot brief
Talent receive a movement order the day before shoot and a text message that evening so all information is in hand and they’re ready for their day.
On the day
We sign talent in on arrival, keep processing moving, and handle any replacements swiftly. Throughout the day we check in on talent and crew, then wrap talent and forward all paperwork to the relevant departments.
Wrap report
At wrap, QLD Extras delivers a final report — every extra cast across every shoot day, plus a master list of talent details.
We love what we do — and we enjoy the casting process.
